Valve Covers are integral parts of many material transport systems in plants all over the world. Valve, or internal or external lips and rims, are used to mount or strengthen connections between pipes. The term can be something of a catch-all in day-to-day usage, but in industrial terms valve are fairly straightforward, serving as connection points between material transport pipes. valve also serve as connection points, except they are designed to be easily disconnected for maintenance or replacement.
Insulating valve
- Because connection points in steam, gas, and water systems undergo disproportionate stress, and because of their unusual shapes, plant owners have a tricky situation when creating their insulation plan for a system with valve. The unique shapes these components can take on as well as the need to access them for repairs means that any inflexible insulation plan is out of the question. This can further complicate things, since a plant owner might decide to insulate other system components and ignore the valve in their system. This approach can put even further stress on those components, however, and can lead to a system failure. Therefore, removable valve insulation is recommended.

The turbo blanket isolates the heat produced by your turbocharger, and prevents that heat from damaging, or even igniting, components surrounding the turbocharger within your engine compartment, such as plastic and rubber hoses and electrical wiring, as well as painted surfaces, such as the engine bay and the surface of the hood. Also, it prevents areas of localized high temperature from damaging the engine itself. For example, a common cause of head gasket failure in turbocharged vehicles is localized heating of a portion of the engine.

For applications where temperatures exceed 1200 celsius, Fiberglass cloth or 304 stainless steel mesh can be used as the inner liner. If oily conditions are a concern, smart shield insulation blanket can wrap the insulation in an aluminum jacket before attaching the inner liner or outer finish to keep the insulating from soaking up the oil. These insulation blanket have many built in features to assure a good fit and easy installation. 2" wide Hook & Loop Closure strips are applied at the laps, not 1" wide, to make sure the lap stays in place. Polypropylene belts with "D" rings are used to quickly close and secure the covers. Flaps with drawstrings are used to help seal out the weather where the covers mate up to conventional insulation. Binding is used to reinforce all exposed seams. Smart shield insulation blanket are sewn to provide strength and a pleasant appearance. At high stress points double and triple stitching is used for reinforcement. For high temperature applications, "hog ring" staples are used.

Although the aluminum layer is considered to be sacrificial at temperatures above 600°C the aluminum will withstand continuous operating temperatures in the 315°C range with no significant degradation. However, long term exposure at temperatures above 315°c will ultimately degrade the adhesive used to laminate the aluminum to the cloth substrate.

Flange Covers are integral parts of many material transport systems in plants all over the world. Flanges, or internal or external lips and rims, are used to mount or strengthen connections between pipes. The term can be something of a catch-all in day-to-day usage, but in industrial terms flanges are fairly straightforward, serving as connection points between material transport pipes. Unions also serve as connection points, except they are designed to be easily disconnected for maintenance or replacement. Because connection points in steam, gas, and water systems undergo disproportionate stress, and because of their unusual shapes, plant owners have a tricky situation when creating their insulation plan for a system with flanges and unions. The unique shapes these components can take on as well as the need to access them for repairs means that any inflexible insulation plan is out of the question. This can further complicate things, since a plant owner might decide to insulate other system components and ignore the flanges and unions in their system. This approach can put even further stress on those components, however, and can lead to a system failure. Therefore, removable flange insulation is recommended.
